My Story
Hi friends! Thanks for being here!
A few years ago, I opened a little online embroidery shop that just took off like crazy. Over the years as my business grew, thankfully, so did my family. After three little babies came along, I decided to take a step back from the embroidery side of things and just focus on soaking up the time of babyhood/toddlerhood/preschool-hood that goes by too fast. Babies don't keep!
During my last pregnancy, I took classes to learn digitizing and started dabbling and creating my own designs to offer customers strictly for my business. After 9 months of exclusively staying at home with my babies, I had an itch to have a creative outlet which has led to me opening a digitizing shop.
The Cotton Gin name is a nod to my other business and to my ancestral history. My great-grandmother picked and sold cotton to a Cotton Gin during the Great Depression so that she could buy a Singer sewing machine to sew her children's clothes. The machine and table sit in my home as a focal decor point and I guess the talent of making sweet baby clothes still runs in my family.
